Twenty Years of Making Second Life Feel Like Home
A house in Second Life can be so much more than four walls and a roof. It can be a peaceful escape by the sea, a cozy hideaway in the woods, or the beginning of a whole new story. Scarlet Creative, founded by Charlotte Bartlett in 2006, has spent two decades bringing these possibilities to life.
Charlotte's journey began with a fascination for building in a virtual world, first working with prims before moving into mesh creation in 2012. Some of her earliest favorites were the simple, modernist white beach houses she created back in 2007 - designs that still hold a special place in her heart. Over the years, Scarlet Creative has explored an impressive variety of architecture, from charming cottages and rustic retreats to contemporary lofts, elegant European-inspired homes, and tropical beach houses.
But Charlotte's creativity has never been limited to houses. One of her greatest joys has been creating interactive environments, including an Alice in Wonderland experience with a secret world waiting to be discovered. Her earlier work also included collaborations with organizations and brands such as the BBC, Adobe, and Sports Relief.
Today, Scarlet Creative continues to explore new possibilities in virtual architecture, with PBR designs adding another chapter to its collection. And perhaps the loveliest part of the story is that, even after twenty years, Charlotte is still imagining what her own dream Second Life home might look like.
